Who we are

What membership gives you

Membership costs €8.99 per month and gives you every film in the current monthly selection, and one award to give each calendar month. There are no tiers and no add-ons.

A selection runs for one month. On the first of the month a new one opens, and the films from the month before stop playing. That is the shape of the programme, not a trick to make you hurry: a run is never cut short once it has started, and we do not take a film away and put it back to sell it to you twice.

A film whose run has ended does not leave Klein Cinema. Its page, its synopsis, its credits, the reviews members wrote about it and anything it won all stay, and you can still find it by browsing or by searching. What ends is playback.

That is different from a film being removed. A filmmaker may withdraw their own film at any time, and we may remove one if we must for legal reasons. Those take the film off the site; a run ending does not.

The award

Each member may give one award per calendar month. The award carries no money and cannot be bought, sold, transferred or recalled. It requires an active membership; watching a free film does not grant one.

The most-awarded film in a month receives the Community Prize, an honour decided entirely by member ballots. It carries a cash award only when presented by a sponsor, and never comes from the amount paid to filmmakers. We publish the count in members, never in money.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials to yourself. One person, one account.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that abuses the platform, other members, or filmmakers — including attempts to manipulate awards or view counts.

What you may not do

• Download, copy, redistribute or publicly screen films from Klein Cinema.
• Circumvent the membership gate, or share access with people who are not you.
• Automate playback, awards, or reviews in any way.
• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, or not yours to post.

Availability

We aim to keep Klein Cinema running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Playback depends on services we do not control, and occasionally something will break.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud. Otherwise our liability to you is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you before the change takes effect and you may cancel. Dutch law applies, and the courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction.
